What we believe

We are a member of the denomination of Christianity called The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. This means that we believe the whole Bible to be the true, inspired, Word of God. We also believe in One God who is a Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  We confess this, among other beliefs each week when we join our brothers and sisters in Christ in the words of the Apostle's Creed, originally formed in AD 390.

"I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

Creator of Heaven and earth;

and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell;

the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen."

We understand that the writings held inside the Book of Concord to be as best of an understanding as we can have of the Bible as sinful yet redeemed humans.

Christ has won the victory over death, and we live in that newness of life each and every day, continuing to be spiritually fed by the Bible and coming together to receive God's gift of forgiveness together as His Church when we worship together.
